Lakeside Wine Festival Entertainment
The Mighty Croon Dogs is an energetic 4-piece band that plays all types of music, hitting listeners all the way from the heart to the dancing feet. Their smooth vocal harmonies weave together with talented musicianship to create a dynamic blend, pleasing to audiences of all ages. These professional musicians have an upbeat style centering on classic and contemporary rock, rhythm & blues, with an infusion of swing, salsa, reggae, soul, country and smooth jazz to add to the fun.

The Mighty Croon Dogs have performed for The Santa Barbara Wine Festival, the Paso Robles Wine Festival, the Atascadero Wine Festival, the SLO Wine Festival, and the Basil Festival for many years! They have also participated in the SLO Concert series, the San Luis Obispo Blues Society, the Mid-State Fair, the AIDS Walk for Life, and many other events, as well as weddings, "fun-raisers" and special events. An original song written by Billy Foppiano and performed by the band is included on a CD to benefit the homeless, sponsored by the San Luis Obispo Downtown Business Improvement Association.
The group has also been featured on the music television program "Sessions," opened for Canned Heat and the Chambers, and closed for the "Drifters."
The Mighty Croon Dogs are:
Billy Foppiano -- Known as the "Guitar Wizard," Billy has been pleasing crowds all over the Central Coast for years. Billy has been the energetic lead singer and guitar master of many well-known local bands, and is widely respected as one of the area's best electric guitar players. His original tune, "Downtown," is featured on a recent recording to benefit the local homeless center.
Frank Paredes -- A familiar face on the Central Coast music scene for two decades, Frank is equally at home in all styles of music , and is part of the two headed beast "The Omi-Gawd Riddem Section". His dynamic bass-playing has added a rhythmic edge to many local bands over the years, and his tasteful singing helps to define the band’s name..
Scott Wright -- Saxophonist Scott Wright is known as one of the county's most talented musicians, sought after for his velvety tones. He switches seamlessly from tenor saxophone to alto and soprano saxophone, and even flute. Scott's expressive musical voice is always a crowd-pleaser.
Jerome Taylor -- Another long-time local musician, Jerome hosts the KCBX (90.1 Hz, or KCBX.org) radio show "The Universal Language” on Sunday nights at 11p.m. He has a keen sense of musical programming , and his lively rhythms round out the band's fun sound. His powerful vocals add to the mix and he is “part two” of the "The Omi-Gawd Riddem Section.”
The Mighty Croon Dogs will provide all the music for the 17th Annual Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival on Saturday, June 23, 2012, 4-8 p.m. at Atascadero Lake. The band will perform at the historic lakeside bandstand. Guests will be able to stretch on the cool, green lawn, sip a little wine, nibble a little food and croon along with the Croon Dogs!
